Frequently Asked Questions
I know starting with a new provider can bring a lot of questions. At Vital Resilience, transparency and trust are at the heart of what I do. Below you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions about my approach, what to expect, and how care works here. If you don’t see your question, please don’t hesitate to reach out — I’m here to help.
Is this practice covered by insurance?
Vital Resilience is a cash-based practice. While visits are not billed to insurance, your health insurance can often be used for things like certain medications, lab work, and diagnostic testing.
Is this my primary care?
No. My practice is intended to supplement, not replace, your primary and preventive care. It’s vitally important to keep up with regular physical exams, cancer screenings, and vaccinations through your primary care provider.
How often do I need follow-ups?
In most cases, follow-ups can be scheduled at your preference. The only exceptions are treatments that require routine monitoring, such as hormone replacement therapy (including testosterone replacement therapy) and weight loss medications.
How is this different from regular medicine?
Traditional medicine often focuses on managing symptoms or treating illness once it appears. While that’s important, it can sometimes leave people without answers to why they don’t feel well.
My approach blends conventional medical care with functional medicine principles. That means I address your symptoms so you can feel better now, while also looking deeper into the root causes—like nutrition, stress, sleep, hormones, and lifestyle factors—that may be contributing.
It’s a more complete way of caring for your health: relief in the present, and solutions for lasting wellness.
How long until I feel better?
Everyone’s journey is unique. Some people notice improvements within a few weeks, while others take longer depending on how complex their health concerns are. My goal is always twofold: to provide support that brings relief now, and to create a long-term plan that addresses the root causes for lasting results.
Do you order labs or testing?
Yes. Lab work and diagnostic testing can be an important part of understanding the full picture of your health. When needed, I order labs through trusted partners, and many are covered by insurance.
What if I’ve already tried everything?
Many people come to me after feeling like they’ve hit a dead end with traditional care. My role is to take a fresh look, connect the dots, and consider both conventional and functional strategies that may not have been explored yet.
